Southern Africa embraces a myriad of land forms and habitats including: deserts, grasslands, mountains, forests, moist and arid savannahs and the unique karoo and fynbos biomes. Tembele Eco-Tours takes pleasure in sharing this remarkable natural heritage with birders of all ages and experience levels. Each custom designed birding tour is personally led by Joe Grosel, a highly qualified safari guide, ecologist and ornithologist with an infectious passion for natural world.

Top birding destinations that form part of our southern African tour itineraries include: South Africa’s Kruger National Park, The Drakensberg mountains, Zululand, the Limpopo Province, the arid Kalahari, central Mozambique, the Cape Peninsula, Botswana’s Chobe and Okavango regions, the lush upper Zambezi River and the deserts of Namibia. Not only do these destinations provide superb birding but they also offer a great diversity of other wildlife and spectacular landscapes.
